I’ve always appreciated the poetry and rhythm of the seemingly mundane, something I refer to as the still city. If you are looking, the urban environment is full of these gems, and this represents a moment I really enjoyed. This image originated while waiting for the train in Chicago, through a gap in the concrete and across the tracks, a peaceful pair even if just for a moment. This piece combines big spray paint and stencil techniques gleaned from graffiti and street art, finished with loose hand drawn embellishments. A personal favorite over the years.
